Branson is in the business of asset building. He takes a long term view of each business and focuses on growing the company's overall worth as opposed to quarterly and annual profits. He sees the goal as being able to sell part or all of a company in 5-10 years for a lot more then he invested in it, then using those funds to build bigger business and expand the Virgin Group.
